Rambla Esmeralda is a deep emerald green brick tile, 7.5 x 30cm, with a glossy glaze that runs thick and thin over a softly rippled face. The colour shifts from bottle green to a brighter jewel tone depending on how the glaze has settled, and Grespania makes 44 different faces so no two neighbouring tiles look quite the same.
In Grespania's own photo it covers the walls and columns of a restaurant bar, laid vertically in stacked rows under warm lighting, with a dark wood-effect floor. At home, the same look works on a kitchen splashback, behind a bath or across a shower wall with brass or black fittings. It's 7mm coloured-body porcelain with non-rectified edges, and the high shade variation means mixing tiles from several boxes as you lay them. The range also includes Zafiro blue and Azabache black.
