Casalgrande Marmora Nero Antico Wall & Floor Tiles

Nero Antico is not a tile for the undecided - and that's exactly what makes it so good. A deep, near-black base with lighter veining running through it in grey and cream, it's one of those tiles that changes a room completely rather than simply updating it. Used floor to ceiling in a bathroom it creates something genuinely dramatic; used more selectively - on a kitchen island, as a feature wall behind a bath, or as a hallway floor - it anchors a space in a way that few other tiles can. It's a rectified porcelain stoneware tile, so the edges are precision-cut - essential when you're working with large formats and want the joints to disappear as much as possible.

What stops it from feeling heavy is the veining. The Marmora collection's low-relief technique means the lighter tones in Nero Antico are physically present in the surface of the tile, catching the light as you move through the room. In the Lucida finish this effect is particularly striking - the polished surface amplifies the contrast between dark base and pale veining. For floor use in wet areas, the Honed finish is the more practical choice, carrying an R9 slip rating.
