The 60 x 60cm square is the size most people picture when they imagine a marble-look floor, and it's easy to see why. It feels generous without overwhelming a smaller bathroom, en-suite or cloakroom, where a huge format can end up as mostly cut pieces. It sits just as happily on the walls, so a compact room can be tiled floor to ceiling in the one design.
Grespania has given this size 36 different faces, which is a lot of variety for a single tile. The honey gold and grey veining shifts as you move across the floor, bolder in some places and barely there in others, so the finished room looks far more like natural stone than a repeating print.
It's rectified porcelain with a natural matt finish, so it's every bit as low-maintenance as it is good-looking. Real marble wants sealing and a careful hand with the cleaning products. This one is happy with a mop.
