Casalgrande Marmora Grigio Antico Wall & Floor Tiles

There's a reason grey has become such a reliable choice in bathroom and kitchen design - but Grigio Antico is a long way from the flat, characterless grey that became overused in the 2010s. This is a marble-effect porcelain tile with real depth to it: a cool mid-grey base with softer, lighter veining running through the surface in a way that shifts depending on the light. In the morning it can read almost silver; in the evening, warmer and more complex.

It's a genuinely versatile tile. In a bathroom it works with chrome, brushed brass and matt black fittings equally well. In a kitchen, it holds its own against both white and dark cabinetry without looking like a compromise. Large format versions - particularly the 120x120cm and 120x278cm - make a strong case for themselves in open-plan living spaces and hallways, where the cooler tone helps keep things feeling open. Grigio Antico is a rectified porcelain stoneware tile throughout the range, giving you clean, precise edges and the option of very fine grout lines if that suits the look you're going for.

As with all tiles in the Marmora range, the veining is low-relief - built into the surface of the tile rather than applied as a flat print - which gives Grigio Antico that slightly worn, natural quality that purely printed marble effects often miss. The Honed finish carries an R9 slip rating, which makes it a solid choice for bathroom and kitchen floors.
