Most marble-look tiles play it cool, all whites and greys. Canela Roma goes the other way. Its base is a soft cinnamon beige, threaded with reddish-brown veins that give a room an instant glow, a bit like late afternoon sun on old Roman stone. At 120 x 120cm those veins have space to travel, so a floor in this size looks more like a run of cut slabs than a grid of tiles.
Grespania has given the surface a subtle texture, so it looks natural rather than flat and printed, and the matt finish keeps it relaxed rather than showy. It's a lovely partner for oak furniture, brushed brass and plenty of greenery, and it really comes into its own in open-plan kitchens and living spaces that need warming up. As a rectified porcelain it never needs sealing. Tiles this large do need a flat subfloor and an experienced fitter, so it's worth planning for that early on.
