ClickLux Silver Birch Matt SPC Click Vinyl 17.8 x 121.9cm

ClickLux Silver Birch is a soft, light grey wood effect with a gentle grain running through it. Because the grey is light and the grain is subtle, it goes with most colour schemes, from crisp white walls to oak furniture or a boldly painted kitchen.

The planks are long, just under 122cm each, so you get fewer joins across the room and a cleaner, more open finish. Inside every plank is a stiff layer of stone plastic composite, mostly limestone bound with vinyl, and it's this SPC core that keeps the floor flat and steady. It's fully waterproof, so a bathroom, en-suite or utility room is no problem at all. On top, a 0.3mm wear layer deals with everyday scuffs, footprints and the occasional dropped hairbrush, and it's rated for busy family homes.

Fitting is refreshingly simple. The planks join with an I4F click system, so there's no glue to wrestle with, and a 1mm foam underlay comes already attached to the back of each one. That means one less thing to buy, plus a floor that feels warmer and sounds quieter underfoot. It's suitable for underfloor heating too.
