Malmo gives a wall the look of slatted timber panelling without any real wood. Each 45 x 120cm ceramic tile is moulded into narrow raised slats with fine grooves between them and printed with a natural wood grain, so light falling across the wall picks out every line. It's a simple way to add texture behind a bath, a vanity unit or a bed, and because it's glazed ceramic, steam and splashes do it no harm.
There are three wood tones. Cipres is a soft greige, Fresno a light honey ash, and Roble a mid-brown oak with deeper shadows in the grooves. All three are 8mm thick with rectified edges, so the joints stay tight and the slats appear to run across the wall without a break.
How do you use it in a room? Grespania's own bathroom puts Malmo Cipres on one wall behind a freestanding bath and keeps the other walls plain in Atrezo Arena, a sandy ceramic tile in the same size. Atrezo isn't listed here, but TABO orders directly from Grespania, so we can get it for you. For the floor, the wood-effect porcelain planks in Grespania Jungla share two of the same colour names, Cipres and Roble, and carry the timber look underfoot. You'll find the full range in the Grespania series catalogues.
Grespania is on display at our Milton Keynes showroom at Waterside Park, Old Wolverton Road, MK12 5NL. Some designs are held in stock, and anything not shown online can be ordered. Call our sales team on 01908 311104 for advice or a quote.
