A Thoughtful Use of Space

The room is rectangular, but its layout and ceiling structure brought complexity to the design. A dividing wall separates the toilet area from the main bathroom, helping to zone the space naturally. Rather than viewing this wall as a limitation, the design embraces it, using it to create a distinct nook for the toilet while also forming a striking backdrop for the basin and mirror.
The slanted ceiling could have been a challenge, but instead, it's used to advantage. By positioning the WC beneath the tallest part of the ceiling, the design allows for clever storage above, making the most of vertical space without compromising on aesthetics.
Textured Minimalism with a Subtle Edge
Despite its contemporary styling, the room retains a strong sense of character thanks to original features like the wooden beams and door. Rather than clashing with the sleek sanitaryware and minimalist finishes, these natural elements add warmth and texture, grounding the design in its setting and lending it a timeless quality.
The modern palette is built around large-format porcelain tiles from ABK’s Ghost collection. Used in two sizes, 90 x 90cm and 120 x 120cm, in the subtle 'Rope' finish, they bring a soft, textured look reminiscent of concrete or limestone. This seamless surface acts as a modern canvas, visually expanding the space and drawing the eye to the clean, architectural lines of the fixtures.
Clean Lines and Comfortable Functionality
The bath is the Biscay 1800 x 800mm from Eastbrook's Beaufort range - a generous, straight-edged design ideal for both bathing and showering. Paired with a sleek VOS Click Clack Bath Filler by Just Taps in a gunmetal finish, it keeps the look minimal and the maintenance simple.
Over at the basin, the Tuscany Tall Mono Tap in gunmetal from Qualitex echoes the finish of the bath filler and adds a touch of industrial character. It stands elegantly beside the Sofia 60 Ceramic Vanity Basin, also from Qualitex, which perches atop dark stone-toned furniture by Deuco. This choice not only adds visual depth but also maximises floor space - a practical win in a compact room.

Above the basin, the Oxygen 800mm Illuminated Circular Mirror from Tavistock Bathrooms brings a soft glow and a sculptural shape that contrasts beautifully with the room's more angular forms. Lighting here isn't just functional - it helps define zones and brings a sense of calm.
