The Wide&Style Fuoriformato collection from ABK is something genuinely different in the world of decorative wall tiles. Where most large-format porcelain relies entirely on digital printing to achieve its decorative effect, Fuoriformato goes further - combining high-resolution digital print with individual handmade applications of premium glazes, metallic powders, and colour that are worked into each slab by hand before firing.
The firing process reaches temperatures of around 800 degrees Celsius, which is significantly higher than standard ceramic production and is what makes the metallic and precious material applications possible. Once fired, the finish is fixed permanently and deeply into the porcelain surface, giving each slab a physical depth and tonal richness that no purely printed tile can match.
Because every slab is finished by hand, no two pieces in the collection are exactly alike. Tonal variation between slabs is natural and intentional - it is the quality that separates a genuinely handmade decorative surface from everything else on the market. ABK themselves describe this variation as part of the artistic value of each piece, and it is hard to disagree.
The collection comprises six designs, each available in a single 120x280cm format. Palms and Orchid bring rich, layered botanical compositions in deep, warm tones. Butterfly takes a more graphic direction, with dramatic large-scale motifs in charcoal and rust. Willow offers something more delicate and calligraphic. Reve is the most architectural of the six - a tonal gradient from warm taupe to deep slate that is entirely about atmosphere rather than pattern. And Wavy provides an abstract, flowing line composition in a neutral palette that works alongside almost any interior scheme. You can download the official ABK brochure from their website.
These tiles are suitable for bathrooms, wet rooms, living rooms, dining rooms, and high-end commercial spaces including hotels, restaurants, and wellness environments. The porcelain stoneware construction means they are durable and suitable for wet areas, but it is important to note that the handmade metallic finishes require specific cleaning care. Acid-based limescale products should not be used on Fuoriformato surfaces, and full cleaning guidance is provided with every order.
If you would like to discuss which design works best for your project, our team is available on 01908 311104 or you can visit our Milton Keynes showroom. Tile sample swatches are available to order so you can assess the colour, texture, and metallic finish of any design in your own space and lighting conditions before committing to an order - which we always recommend for a collection as distinctive as this one.
