Winchester Tiles take on DECORATIVE TILES

The Winchester Tile Company have never been one to shirk away from a challenge! Their 'Artisan' wall tile collection already featured field tiles, half tiles, brick tiles and a series of mouldings and insets. All 18 colours in the range are available in the various size formats.

The mellow tones and subtle sheen of the Artisan collection have proved to be a big hit with our customers. Now Winchester Tiles have brought out a new mini-range within the collection with a highly decorative element in four designs: Bicton, Kew, Rosemoor and Wisley.

Pictured above are various tiles, borders and mouldings in Artisan's Sudbury colour, with the inclusion of the four new decorative half tiles. The latest additions come in five of the popular colours Helmingham (white), Helmingham Vintage (cream), Dunwich (grey), Sudbury (green) and Snape (blue).

Wisely

Above is the Wisely on Sudbury half tile arranged in the classic running bond pattern. The soft base colour is tinged with a delicate green, which creates a soothing atmosphere in the room. The 15 x 7.5cm ceramic tiles make a perfect feature wall in a kitchen or bathroom. The contrasting grout lines give a defined outline to each tile, creating a bold geometric look.

Helmingham

Here we see a mixture of the Helmingham coloured decorative tile. All four designs have been randomly thrown in together, with the ocassional plain tile of the same size. This patchwork effect has proved to be a popular look and certainly brings the wow-factor to any wall. Many would say that a white tiled wall is boring, but arguably, the Artisan Helmingham decorative tiles have proved that statement wrong!

Snape

On to the blues! The Snape coloured tile is a natural beauty which can be seen in the above image of the Rosemoor on Snape Half Tile. The super glossy surface of the tile shows off the delicate detail and mouldings in the floral design. The Artisan decorative range was inspired by English countryside, in particular hedgerows and fine gardens. The inspiration can certainly be seen shining through in the Rosemoor pattern!

Dunwich

The advantage of the grey Dunwich tile is that it will coordinate with many other colours. You can combine these tiles with white kitchen units or black appliances, or you could warm the look up with a splash of a bright colour. The varying grey tones in the patterns give interest and depth, which is evident when natural light is shining on the tile. The mixed Dunwich tiles above are arranged in a interesting way, with the decorative tiles following the stacked bond pattern, giving a varying and pleasing effect, and the plain tiles arranged in the running bond pattern above.

Helmingham Vintage

Lastly we have the Helmingham Vintage colour. This would suit someone who wants a bright, clean-looking room, but would like to stay away from a stark white. The introduction of a touch of cream and the gold tones in the pattern leave a warmer look than the white Helmingham tile. Above, the Kew on Helmingham Vintage Half Tile has been laid vertically, rather than in the traditional horizontal arrangement. This gives a whole different effect and makes the walls appear taller.
