Why Porcelain Tiles…….?
Some time ago we sold tiles that were made of glazed clay.
However with the development of tile manufacturing techniques, larger size tiles have become more popular. This has been facilitated largely by Porcelain Tile production.
Porcelain is made from special clays, which, are pressurised and then fired at extremely high temperatures, around 1200 degrees. This process ensures that porcelain tiles are virtually impermeable, non absorptive therefore easy to clean.
Porcelain tiles are extremely hard and dense which renders them perfect for commercial applications. They are much harder wearing than glazed clay tiles.
Their increased body strength means that we are seeing tiles produced in larger and larger sizes.
Factories such as Casalgrande in Italy have pioneered many spectacular Porcelain tile designs, such as Metalwood, Marte, Metallica and Botticino.
Asian producers have invested great sums in European manufacturing techniques to produce Porcelain Tiles ideal for both wall and floor application. Ranges such as King Tile, etc, etc offer quality at value prices.
