The difference between Granite & Quartz
We are often asked the difference between granite & quartz stone. The main difference is that granite is a natural stone & quartz is composite engineered stone. Quartz is made from basically three materials- granite, quartz & resin. The method of production of Quartz is basically two technologies, vacum & vibration. This means that once produced there will be no pores or air bubbles present in the material (Quartz). This makes the material almost inpenetrable from liquid spillage. Granite has pores, natural vents and naturally occuring shells etc. This often adds to the beauty of natural granite, however granite will require regular maintenance to keep the pores sealed. This is a simiple operation using items such as HG Impregnator , Lithofin MN Stain-stop. Quartz requires nothing more than a quick spray polish such as Seal-Guard.
